Preparing today ’ s students for tomorrow ’ s careers
On March 26 , City representatives spoke with more than 250 students from third through 10th grades for Career Awareness Day at Calvary Christian Academy . Four departments attended , including Communications , the Office of Budget and Management , the Police Department and Neighborhood Services .
The event was dedicated to inspiring and educating students about various career paths and professional opportunities in local government . Our representatives shared insights into their roles , responsibilities and the positive contributions they make to the community each day .
The Communications team showed students how a green screen is used for video production , with the students acting as meteorologists so they could see how the technology works . The team also talked about the many ways the Communications department puts out information for the public , a fun day for everyone involved !
