First driveway completed under culvert assistance program
The City of Port St. Lucie is excited to announce the completion of the first residential driveway under the recently launched Residential Culvert Assistance Program. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the Residential Driveway Program, which officially began Oct. 13. The program was created to assist homeowners in repairing failed culverts and modifying driveways to promote effective stormwater management.
The program has received strong interest from residents eager to address culvert issues and support the health of the City’ s swale system.
While the grant funding option is no longer available, having been fully allocated to necessary culvert repairs, residents still can apply for the City’ s no-interest loan. This loan provides financial support for essential culvert repairs, ensuring rainwater can move efficiently through swales and into the broader stormwater system.
By offering interest-free funding, the Residential Culvert Assistance Program empowers property owners to make improvements that benefit their homes and the community. The City remains committed to strengthening stormwater infrastructure and encourages residents with culvert concerns to explore the available assistance and help maintain Port St. Lucie’ s resilience against stormwater challenges.
