FDOT hosted alternatives public workshop
The Florida Department of Transportation hosted an alternatives public workshop for the Project Development and Environment( PD & E) Study for Glades Cut-Off Road from Range Line Road to Selvitz Road. The PD & E study evaluates the social, economic and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project.
The primary purpose of the project is to widen Glades Cut-Off Road from two to four lanes to add capacity and improve safety and operation. FDOT provided two opportunities for residents to participate, in person and virtually.

Capital Improvements Projects team attends Safe Roads Summit
Representatives from our Capital Improvements Project Team recently attended the South Florida Safe Roads Summit in Fort Lauderdale, an annual event dedicated to fostering safer roadways and vibrant communities through innovation and technology.
The summit provided valuable opportunities for staff to engage with other municipalities during breakout sessions, networking events and interactive workshops. Key insights and best practices learned at the summit are being shared and implemented within our City’ s projects to strengthen safety and efficiency.
Notable speakers included Loren Smith, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy at the U. S. Department of Transportation; Kristin White, Transportation Industry Executive & Head of Transportation Strategy and Partnerships at Google; David Zipper, Senior Fellow at MIT Mobility Initiative; and Wes Marshall, Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado-Denver. www.
