Community engagement is at the heart of Naturally PSL movement
On Feb. 21, the team hosted a community workshop at Whispering Pines Park that brought more than 20 residents and volunteers to co-design possible options of the future neighborhood green space at Whispering Pines. It was a high-energy workshop where the team carefully placed neighbors’ ideas from previous meetings into a proposed site plan.
On March 21, we’ ll be hosting a volunteer day at Whispering Pines to bring those resident-identified goals to life. We will be marking the very walking paths discussed in our ideation sessions and releasing biological controls( beetles and thrips) to manage invasive species naturally.
The City is grateful for the partnership with the Trust for Public Land On Common Ground grant and Love Your Block program, powered by the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins, in supporting these initiatives.
