Citizen Summit showcases the power of community
Residents recently helped shape the City’ s future at the 2026 # IamPSL Citizen Summit, a lively, hands-on event that blended community pride, creativity and collaboration into one memorable day. Far from a traditional government meeting, the Summit buzzed with conversation, colorful activities and neighbors connecting over shared ideas for what comes next in Port St. Lucie.
The popular drop-in experience took place Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Community Center and drew residents of all ages and turned civic engagement into something truly enjoyable. From interactive stations to one-on-one conversations with City staff, attendees explored City initiatives, shared their feedback and celebrated the community they call home. Residents and attendees alike praised the Summit for its fun, welcoming atmosphere, noting how easy— and rewarding— it felt to have a direct voice in shaping the City’ s future.
Interactive activities helped inform the development of the City’ s Strategic Plan and were complemented by giveaways, refreshments and games and activities for children. Many families shared positive feedback about the kid-friendly atmosphere, noting that it made civic engagement accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
