Special Events
It was a busy month for Special Events!
In December the Special Events team successfully delivered several high-profile signature events that brought residents, participants and visitors together to celebrate the season.
The team hosted Festival of Lights, which drew approximately 400 parade participants and welcomed more than 7,000 spectators to enjoy holiday festivities. Attendees enjoyed a vibrant holiday parade, carnival rides, a community market, food vendors, live music by the FM Band Miami, the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree and spectacular fireworks finale.
In addition to Festival of Lights, the Special Events Division coordinated the Torino Regional Park groundbreaking ceremony, a significant milestone in the City.
The team also produced the December River Nights, featuring a Billy Joel tribute band, Turnstiles, providing another wellattended evening of live music and community engagement along the riverfront.
Lastly, Special Events hosted Noche Buena, our final event of the year. This cultural celebration honored Hispanic heritage through delicious food and live performances from Elsten Torres along the riverfront at The Port District. It was a beautiful way to bring our community together and celebrate the rich cultural diversity that defines us.
