Port St. Lucie adds three Little Free Libraries to City parks
The City of Port St. Lucie has partnered with Project LIFT and St. Lucie Reads with the Children’ s Services Council of St. Lucie County to install three new Little Free Libraries in local parks.
Port St. Lucie lights up the holidays
The Communications Department filled the MIDFLORIDA Event Center with holiday cheer as guests explored the PSLinLights Experience during the annual Festival of Lights on Dec. 6.
Attendees enjoyed the twinkling displays, festive City booths, crafty stations, model train display and fun photo ops from Santa’ s elves to the GingerSnap Showdown. Kids flocked to the giant snow globe and ornament‐making table. Attendees wrapped up the fun by chatting with City staff and learning more about their community.
The small, free book exchanges, built by Project LIFT, will be placed at Winter Lakes Park, Sandhill Crane Park and McChesney Park, and stocked with books provided by St. Lucie Reads with the Children’ s Services Council, with help from local book advocate John Cesar( the Book Man).
Project LIFT is dedicated to improving the lives of at‐risk teens and young adults through mental health counseling, mentoring and vocational skills training. Its innovative model delivers therapy alongside hands‐on vocational training, offering no‐cost programming for young people ages 14- 24 at locations in Palm City, Fort Pierce and Belle Glade.
