Mayor ’ s State of the City reviews 2024 accomplishments
Port St . Lucie Mayor Shannon Martin presented the annual State of the City Message on Dec . 27 , which included insights from residents , community members and staff , offering their own views of what is happening in Port St . Lucie .
The State of the City Message is presented as a video , available for viewing on the City ’ s PSL-TV , website and YouTube channel .
Video highlights improvements made thanks to half-cent sales tax
As 2024 came to an end , the City developed a video that highlighted infrastructure improvements that were made thanks to funding from the half-cent sales tax .
Passed in 2018 by St . Lucie County voters , the half-cent sales tax has played a major role in creating better roads , more sidewalks and cleaner waterways . The half-cent sales tax , which will expire in 2028 , has been critical to Port St . Lucie ’ s ability to improve and expand key infrastructure projects that benefit residents daily .
The video , which was produced by the Communications Department ’ s video team , showed progress on projects made in 2024 . That included :

As part of the City ’ s charter , the State of the City Message is provided annually . This year ' s State of the City was developed by Video Team Manager Ben Elliott in collaboration with the Mayor ' s office .
