Students will establish viable goals, including attending and graduating from college.
DESCRIPTOR:
Students will identify steps they need to take to increase their chances of college
acceptance, to receive college scholarships, and to graduate.
ACTIVITIES:
1. While the theme song from “Mission Impossible” is playing in the background, say,
“Class, your mission today, should you choose to accept it, is to award a total of
$5,000.00 in scholarship money to a deserving student in the Teacher Cadet
Program.” (Wave play money bills as you make the announcement.)
2. Distribute copies of the “Scholarship Award Fund, Inc. Selection Committee Memo”
to the ProTeam students, and congratulate them on being selected for this very
important mission.
3. Divide the class into selection committees of five students each.
4. Allow time for each group to read the memo and ask questions. This would be a good
time to explain the Teacher Cadet Program if you haven’t done so already. Give each
committee a scholarship selection packet, which should include two completed
student applications and 10 scholarship rating forms.
