Lesson 5.E. What’s My Line? DESCRIPTORS: Students will identify the different personnel positions in the school system and the job duties of each. Students will explore careers in education. ACTIVITIES: Students often have limited knowledge of the many different personnel positions that are needed to work in our educational system in order to provide quality education for all students. The students will research various professional personnel positions in the school system and demonstrate an understanding of job duties. 1. Begin the activity by asking the students if any of them have ever heard of or seen reruns of the old television show What’s My Line? If any respond positively, have them explain the format of the show. Otherwise, tell them it’s a game show in which a panel of celebrities tries to guess the line of work or job of the guest participant. (YouTube has short video segments.)
