11. Once a student has correctly named his position to a fellow student, he will move his
next index card from his back to his front. After a reasonable period of time, allow
those that have been unsuccessful in answering the question “What’s My Line?” to
receive hints from the other students.
12. If you have fewer students than positions, play a second round using the remaining
index cards.
ASSESSMENT:
Choose one or more of the following means of assessment:
1. Students will write a reflective journal entry on “If I had to choose a position in the
educational system, it would be __________________ because …”
2. Invite a school administrator or someone from the district office to participate in a
question-and-answer session with the ProTeamers.
3. Students choose one position (other than teacher), and explain why they would or
would not want to do that job. Prepare questions ahead of time about the different
positions in the district.
4. Create a video of their shadowing experience, and include a brief interview of the
host.
FAMILY INVOLVEMENT:
Students can play “What’s My Line?” with their family and discuss the outcomes. They
can record their findings in their journals.

MODULE 5:
b) Once students have become familiar with the positions, add another dimension to
the activity by requiring them to give two job duties or one job duty and the
educational requirements, in addition to naming the position before they will be
allowed to move the card to their front.
I Can Teach Others
a) Variations: Repeat this activity several times (example: every day for a week.)
Use a watch to time how long it takes for students to correctly identify their
position(s.) Keep a chart of the times. As students become more familiar with the
various positions, times should get shorter. To close the activity, students can
stand in a circle and take turns telling about their positions. They could display
their cards on an educational system family tree or a “What’s My Line” mobile.
You will need to prepare a tree branch or bulletin board tree or a frame for the
mobile that could be made from coat hangers. A card with “STUDENTS” written in
large letters should be placed at the top of the tree or mobile to demonstrate that
all of the educational personnel positions exist to help or support students.
