On October 9, 1963 Nelson Madela, joined ten others on trial for sabotage in what became known as the Rivonia Trial. While facing the death penalty his words to the court at the end of his famous ‘Speech from the Dock’ on 20 April 1964 became immortalised: “I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.”

TO THE MODERN DAY MANDELAS

Change their minds you will change their hearts. "What you have achieved goes beyond the number of matches you played; you will demonstrate, especially to next generaton in your country, that everyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve success if they are dedicated to and passionate about what they do. We your forefathers are proud of you!"

The time of the struggles (contending with an adversary or opposing force), varying geographic and political conditions is evident... There are clear-cut differences between the front-line strugglers (contenders) and desk-bound analyst (spectators).. no time to listen to the noise ciaos) .. but be led by the sound (the heart beat) of the people, continue to advance! How objective and just would it be to turn a blind eye on the national identity the self-organization processes of the communities subjected to suppression and discrimination would differ from the common practices, especially when they begin to make a true analysis of the notion of capitalist modernity. Traditionally, the organizational options of ‘the book’ are already known. But time proceeds forward and circumstances change, in company with historical determinism. You must make and create change.

MODERN DAY REFORMERS!

Arise to your RISEN state... reformation will change conditions, cultures, individuals and organizations, either captive or free... reformation by you, and through you will make change. Relationships developed on the basis of principled and political integrity between the peoples’ movements and particularly our movement, relies on the changing dynamics and the horizontal nature of their policies.  To believe that these laws of goodwill and friendship have been developed on the basis of fear can only be explained by having no knowledge about the metamorphosis eras the your countries political movement has undergone and failing to observe its democratic inner reflections of the peaceful and negotiating perspective of this movement.

THE MOVEMENT!

Likewise, negotiation and struggle are both important processes in determining the future of peoples’ movements and those leading these processes are figures winning the confidence of the peoples, not ‘feared’ ones. If not so, it wouldn’t be possible for these movements to be represented both in the parliamentary system and the local politics , as it wouldn’t have been possible to succeed in the years-long armed struggle.

It was a long walk to freedom; but the persistence, rightness, resistance and struggle of the South African people overcame all these obstacles. (Nelson Mandela) be a true leader who knows how to lead your people through the dark periods of history and  to show that one can live with former adversaries in amity.

Remember Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace. I believe I have made that effort and that is, therefore, why I will sleep for the eternity.”
