The Orang Asli FLEE Programme is a unique programme designed to educate and support Orang Asli participants from start to end; Tune Protect plans to journey with the Orang Asli participants throughout the entire process, from brainstorming, to registering and running a business on their own. The programme is also in line with Tune Protect’s sustainability framework under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 4, that promotes quality education. The Orang Asli FLEE Programme also coincides with the Malaysian government’s National Strategy for Financial Literacy 2019 - 2023 launched in July 2019, which aims to improve the financial well-being of Malaysians through elevating financial literacy. “By equipping Orang Asli youths with the necessary information and tools to boost their entrepreneurship skills, they are able to improve the livelihood of their families and communities, as well as become more financially responsible,” added Hsu Yi. The long-term goal of the Orang Asli FLEE Programme is to eventually create self-sustaining Orang Asli communities where they can work on their own business independently with strong support from Tune Protect, MBOA and JAKOA helping them along the way. This is also in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 11, where Tune Protect facilitates the development of self-sustaining Orang Asli entrepreneurs and communities.
