Promotion Tool Kit HNA 2018 | Page 12

HNA Press Conferences Press conferences at HNA are a great way to get the media buzzing about your company and increase your visibility beyond the trade show floor. Emerging companies are given the chance to gain industry recognition while established companies can show off their newest products. NOTE: Press Conference time slots fill up VERY quickly. Once the spots are gone, they are gone! • Use the form provided in this Marketing Tool Kit on page 28 to reserve your press conference time ASAP! Space is limited and the prime time slots will quickly be reserved by trade show pros who know the benefit of holding a press conference at HNA. • Use the Editorial/Advertising Contacts list provided in this Marketing Tool Kit to send personalized invitations to reporters in your field. While a complete schedule will be sent to all media and provided on-site in the show press center, giving advanced notice of your press conference to specific media will give each writer the opportunity to schedule accordingly and will increase the likelihood that they will attend your press conference. • Give the media a reason to attend! What are you doing differently in the industry? Why is your new product newsworthy? Newly developed equipment, products or industry innovations are all newsworthy announcements. • Make it easy for the media to cover your news. Have materials to hand out or include your press materials on a thumb drive. • Prepare a media kit (in print and digital format) with lots of visuals – photos and graphics. The Press Center will have a mailbox for each registered publication in order for you to distribute media kits in print or on thumb drives, and/or news releases about your company or new products. • Follow-up with editors in your field. A list of editorial contacts is provided in this Marketing Tool Kit. A simple phone call or email is a helpful reminder of your announcement during your press conference and may increase the possibility of coverage in their HNA wrap-up or subsequent issues.
