Papa joined UNESCO in 2006 and has worked since with the sector for administration. Prior to that, he worked for Deloitte & Touche between 2001 and 2006, first as Information Technology Specialist, then as Senior Business Consultant. He took part in many important consultancies in Africa and lead multi-disciplinary teams of consultants and business partners on many consultancies funded by the World Bank, IFAD, ADB and other donors. Papa also took part in a World Bank sponsored analysis called a Country Financial Accountability Assessment (CFAA). It is a key diagnostic tool to describe the financial accountability arrangements in countries' public and private sectors with the objective of strengthening these environments. Papa played a key role in partnering Deloitte West Africa with the Africa Project Development Facility (APDF). APDF receives funds from the IFC, the financial arm of the World Bank. Between 2002 and 2006, as a recognized Deloitte & Touche facilitator, Papa carried out training assignments in South Africa, Ghana and Kenya as part of the Deloitte & Touche Regional Training Programme. He has trained consultants and business partners on project management methodologies, consulting and overall management skills. Papa is currently studying towards a Master of Business Administration and would be graduating next year. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
