They’ve helped in improving the values and lifestyle
of youth because they are educated and well-
informed about responsibility, purpose and benefits
of living an exemplary life for others to learn from. A
lot of them now have hopes for better lives and are
able to make better choices.
What are the major roles you feel the Nigerian
youth has to play in rebranding the Nigerian
image positively?
Everyone has his or her specific role. It takes self-
assessment and interest to realize that.
Mentorship and quality/ inclusive education are also
important as well as fulfilling one’s duties as a
citizen.
What are the stereotypes Nigerian youth are
popularly known for and what do you think they
should do to actively break them?
I can’t think of any stereotypes at the moment but
one major way to break stereotypes is to read
broadly, socialize and consciously learn about the
way of life of other people. Another thing is to
spread love and peaceful coexistence.
What are some opportunities you know that are
readily available for youth to tap in to specifically
those fashioned for self-development, leadership
skills, entrepreneurship etc?
There are a lot of opportunities out there. Sites such
as
http://opportunitydesk.org,
https://
opportunitiesforafricans.com, https://youthop.com
and https://diplomacyopp.com are very useful.
Young people shoullearn to leverage on social
platforms to improve themselves and not only use
them to chat.
What is the mantra you live by?
‘Let your actions do the talking’.
