Project 5 Evaluation Report Jan 2023-25 | Page 5

Out of the 12 students who took part in the programme, looking at their English Language and Literature mock exams vs actual results:
• 2 improved by more than one grade( 16.6 %), both passed
• 9 improved by one grade( 75 %), but only 4 passed( 33.3 %)
• 1 made no improvement( 8.3 %) and failed
Only 50 % of the students received a pass grade from either English Language or Literature, compared with 100 % passed marks in post Project 5 programme Paper 1 assessment.
Those results could have affected their motivation in a positive way but didn’ t reflect in their final exam grades.
The school also provided data comparing the English Language results for the middle and lower attaining students. It seems that lower attaining students who haven’ t taken part in the Project 5 programme were more successful in their final exams than those who took part in the programme in terms of their grade difference at mocks vs final grade. However, mid attaining students seem to have achieved higher results compared to those who didn’ t take part in the programme. Overall, the students who didn’ t take part in the programme achieved better results i. e. 1.06 grade higher vs 1.0 grade higher.
