EN 14404 is the European Standard which specifies the properties of the knee pads used when working in a kneeling position.
EN 343 is the European Standard for garments that protects the wearer against wet weather. This standard involves testing of seams for water penetration in classes 1-4 and resistance to water vapor in classes 1-4 with 4 being the highest class. The garments must achieve results on both tests to be labeled with the EN 343 symbol.
The standard is designed to ensure that the knee pads give sufficient protection and comfort for the wearer. Knee pads that comply to EN 14404 is subjected to a number of tests to assess the impact resistance, ergonomic design and level of comfort. To be certified for EN 14404, the knee pads have to be combined with a pair of trousers that jointly applies to the same certification. PROJOBs knee pads are certified to EN 14404, type 2, class 1.
