EN 342 is a European standard that specifies the requirements and test methods for protective clothing designed to provide protection against cold environments.
This standard is particularly relevant for clothing intended for work in cold conditions where the air temperature can go below-5 ° C. Clothing is tested under various conditions to determine its thermal insulation, which can be categorized into two types:
-Represents the thermal insulation of the entire clothing ensemble.
-Represents the thermal insulation of the ensemble without taking into account the effects of air and movement. This standard is vital for workers in industries such as construction, agriculture, and logistics, where protection against cold is critical for safety and productivity.
