Cynthia Asia is an experienced educational leader with a proven record of turning around schools and a school district . She has worked hard to ensure that education employees achieve their professional best , that students strive for excellence , and that parents understand how to become proactive advocates for the education of their children . She is a believer and has dedicatedly worked to provide proper training and support for all educators , while developing instructional environment for students , encouraging business and community partnerships , promoting parent involvement , and maintaining positive communication to pathways of success . In 2000 , Governor Jeb Bush appointed Cynthia to Volunteer Florida , which is the Governor ' s Commission on Community Service and Volunteerism . On April 12 , 2005 , under her leadership as chairperson of Volunteer Florida , the Governor signed a proclamation designating April as Florida Volunteer Month .
In 2005 , she completed and graduated from Leadership Putnam , sponsored by the Putnam Chamber of Commerce , and in 2006 as an Educational Consultant , she have had the opportunity to work with North East Educational Consortium ( NEFEC ), Crown Consortium , and Johns Hopkins University ' s Center for Data Driven Reform in Education , South Delta School District , Rolling Fork , Mississippi and Putnam County School District . These opportunities have enabled her to positively influence the operations of school districts locally and nationally in the areas of curriculum , instruction and assessment .
One of Cynthia ' s proudest success stories as an Educational Consultant is the progress she orchestrated in the South Delta School District moving it from the bottom 10 % in the state to the highest student gains in the State of Mississippi in just two years . The district received the Trophy Award for their success . On January 16 , 2012 , she was contracted to assist in planning training for new superintendents in Mississippi in the areas of student achievement and accountability based on her success in the South Delta School District .
