Cynthia was recognized by the Florida Association of School Administrators ( FASA ) as President of the Division of Instructional Leaders ( DIL ) which is an affiliate of the Florida Association of Instructional Leaders and Administrators . Cynthia is the Immediate Past President of Zeta Mu Zeta Chapter , Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated and a member and Educational Resource for Concerned Citizens for the Education of Our Children . She enjoys working in her childhood church Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Palatka , Florida as a member , Lay Leader and Administrative Council Chairperson .
Educated in the public schools of Putnam County , Cynthia Asia received her Bachelor of Science degree from Bethune-Cookman University in 1971 . She furthered her education by attending the University of Florida and the University of North Florida and received her Reading and Guidance Certification . She received her Master of Education in Educational Leadership in 1978 from Florida A & M University . In 1971 , she began teaching in the Putnam County school system at Browning Pearce Elementary School , and later became a Guidance Counselor , School Principal , and an Administrator in the District Office of Putnam County schools .
" I can be trusted to " Get It Right ," Education has been and is my life . I know that education is key to all career paths , whether one goes to college or chooses the military , a job , or technical school . Education is critical to the success and progress of our community ," she explains .
Palatka and Putnam County are very dear to her heart . " Not only is Putman County my home , I was born , raised , and educated in Putnam County . My career in education , spanning over 35 years in the Putnam County School District , includes teaching and serving as a Guidance Counselor , Academic Assistant , Coordinator of Elementary Education , Principal , Director of Elementary Education and Area Director for Instruction ."
