The steps to earning the highest awards are rooted in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the three keys to leadership: girls discover themselves and their values and explore the world, connect with others locally and globally, and take action to make the world a better place. Take Action Module
The Take Action learning module helps girls and volunteers understand the Take Action component of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. The module is specifically designed to assist volunteers supporting girls in pursuit of their Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. This learning opportunity is recommended for girls and adults.

Program Aide
Cadette Girl Scouts. Learn how to work directly with younger girls by sharing your experience and knowledge with others and developing your leadership skills. Must have earned LiA award.

Earn leadership hours for your Girl Scout awards. To assist, you must be at least one Girl Scout grade level above the event grade level. Look for the helping hands symbol in the program events pages (see page 14). Interested in helping—contact the Program & Learning Specialist in your area.
Volunteer in Training (VIT)
Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts. For girls who’d like to mentor Daisy, Brownie, Junior or Cadette group outside of the camp experience. Contact local GSDH Service Center.
Counselor in Training (CIT)
Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts. Mentor younger girls in a camp setting as you build skills toward becoming a camp counselor. Contact local GSDH Service Center.

Adults
Outdoor Skills for Adults
Adults learn how to effectively facilitate basic outdoor activities, understand the purpose and progression of outdoor experiences. Adults will learn about outdoor safety, outdoor manners and rules, dressing for the outdoors, kaper charts, using a knife, learning about knots, setting up tents and how to build a fire.
Advanced Outdoor Cooking
Adults learn advanced outdoor cooking techniques; foil, box oven, solar, dutch oven and vagabond stove.
GS101
This class is required of all adults that are working with girls. It teaches the importance of all the components of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience including the three keys to leadership.
