Üsküp Kalesi’nden Vardar’a karşı bir fotoğraf çekildikten
sonra Fatih döneminden kalma Taş Köprü’den geçin ve
Makedonların Yeni Üsküp’üne girin. Burada sizi Büyük
İskender’in devasa heykeli selamlayacak. Onun heybetine
şaşarken Makedonya Meydanı çıkıyor önünüze. Burada
herhangi bir kafeye oturup meydanı inceleme fırsatını bulabilirsiniz. İnsanların güler yüzlülüğü ve sempatikliği burada da etkisini fazlasıyla gösteriyor ve üzerinizden o yurt
dışı soğukluğunu bir anda atıveriyor. Meydanı turladıktan
sonra Rahibe Teresa Müzesi’ni ve 1965’te şehre ciddi hasar
veren depremin simgesi Deprem Müzesi’ni de gezmelisiniz.

After taking a picture from Skopje Castle across Vardar, walk
across the stone bridge, which is constructed at Fatih era
and then enter the new Skopje of Macedonians. Here,
gigantic sculpture of Alexander the Great will greet you. While
you are amazed at his majesty, Macedonia square appears.
Here you have the opportunity to sit in a café and abstract
surroundings. Geniality and charm of the Macedonian
people also show its effect in here and make you feel home.
After wandering at the square, I strictly recommend you
to visit Mother Teresa Museum and Earthquake Museum.
Earthquake Museum is the symbol of the earthquake, which
seriously and deeply harmed the city in 1965.

You should definitely drop by Ohrid. It is absolutely a natural
heaven. As you enter the city, Ohrid’s 7/24 active
downtown region greets you. We can actually call this place little
İstiklal Street, but instead of a square or a tunnel it ends up
at a deep blue lake: Ohrid Lake. Here, captains with boats
who know a little Turkish wait for you. You just jump on
the boat and these captains show you around on the vivid,
cerulean lake. By this way you also see the city panoramically.
Without question you should visit Saint John Church and
Ohrid Castle. In these places, in addition to the historical
beauty an incredible view waits for you. Before you leave,
order yourself an Ohrid fish in a restaurant. I ensure you,
you will be unable to forget the delicious flavor of the fish
which you eat across the lake view.
At the end of my 4 day trip, I can say that Macedonia and
Turkeyare very similar to each other but there is a little difference: Macedonia is in Eastern Europe. Natural beauties,
hospitality and intimacy of Macedonian people make your
trip even more joyful. You don’t need to know their language,
anyhow one of the two people knows Turkish. As they say: “It
can’t be explained, it should be experienced.” Let’s go to
Macedonia!
