Martin WPS Line Array Martin Audio has launched the WPS 8-in. line array, which is the fourth model in the Wavefront Precision series. The WPS has a peak SPL of 133dB and its flexibility makes it an ideal system for live sound reinforcement and installations in theatres, concert halls, and houses of worship. It can also be deployed as front-fill, delay, or side-hang support for larger Wavefront Precision systems. The WPS is a passive three-way system that integrates a high density of drive units in a compact enclosure. It features two 8-in. LF drivers, four 4-in. midrange drivers, and 4 x 1-in. exit HF compression drivers loaded by a moulded HF horn, which occupies the full width of the enclosure, defining the 100-degree horizontal constant directivity coverage pattern of both the HF and midrange sections. Audinate Dante-As-Software Networking Solutions Audinate has announced two new soft- ware-based Dante products to support the AV industry’s shift from purpose-built hardware to software-based solutions run- ning on standardized hardware. The Dante Embedded Platform enables manufacturers to add full Dante functionality in software running on Linux for x86 and ARM proces- sors while the Dante Application Library allows software developers to integrate Dante functionality directly into their PC and Mac applications. These new software-based solutions give manufacturers and developers the ability to deploy Dante into products where it wasn’t previously feasible, in ways that weren’t previously possible. Dante can now be de- ployed in products where either the price point or form factor made integrating dedi- cated Dante hardware challenging. Dante as software also provides more flexibility, with the potential to enable new capabilities like Dante being deployed retroactively to products already in the field, the ability to add new features and functions to products on the fly, and the possibility for manufactur- ers, integrators, or customers to configure the number of Dante channels they want for a particular application. Audinate has introduced these new software products in conjunction with several lead customers, including QSC, Analog Devices (ADI), and Zoom Video Communications.
