PRODUCTS DPA 4097 Core Choir Microphone DPA Microphones has introduced the 4097 Core supercardioid choir microphone. Ideal for house of worship and choir applications, the 4097 provides the same sonic qualities as DPA’s d:vote Core 4099 instrument microphone but was designed specifically to capture dynamic choir sound, with both wireless or wired configurations. The 4097 choir mic also features DPA’s flat off-axis supercardioid pattern. The microphone has a very high gain-before-feedback and, due to the off-axis characteristic, is designed to make a choir sound natural from all angles. Configured with a MicroDot connector and a DPA adapter, the 4097 can be deployed in wired or wireless configurations. Featuring the Core by DPA amplifier technology, a clear sound is achieved as it lowers the distortion and expands the dynamic range. It includes three shock mounts to dampen the rumble caused by movement on the stage. For more information, contact GerrAudio Distribution: 613-342-6999, [email protected], www.gerr.com. SSL SiX Desktop Mixer Solid State Logic has released the SiX desktop mixer, which is designed to offer SSL’s characteristic sound and features at a fraction of the cost and size of its full-size studio consoles. The mixer features two recording channels with SuperAnalogue mic pres, a one-knob version of the SSL Channel Compressor, two-band Channel EQ, inserts, and 100-mm faders. There is also a two-knob version of the G-Series Bus Compressor on the main mix bus and a Listen Mic Compressor on the talkback channel. The SiX also includes a mixdown mode, which is a 12-channel summing system that adds analog detail, depth, and width to mixes. Everything except the headphone jack is fully balanced. Electro-Voice MFX Multi-Function Monitors Electro-Voice has introduced the MFX Multi-Function Monitors, which utilize high-output coaxially-aligned HF and LF transducers matched with a new EV-engineered Constant-Directivity waveguide and a new crossover design. Coverage in monitor orientation is 40 degrees H x 60 degrees V. The dimensions and location of the waveguide interact with the woofer to effectively create a bipole output, enhancing coverage control through the midrange frequencies. In addition to providing a stable sound image as the performer moves off-axis, the compact coaxial design presents a significantly lower-profile footprint on stage. A cabinet concept with dual monitor angles (35 and 55 degrees) allows the output to be focused towards the performer. MFX monitors are optimized for use with TGX10 or IPX10:4 amplifiers from EV’s sibling brand, Dynacord. Both models can be deployed in passive or bi-amp configuration, and can be optimized for different uses via DSP settings in the amps.
