Dolby’s Patrick Griffis Elected as SMPTE President SMPTE’s mem- bership has elected new officers and governors for the 2019-2020 term. Patrick Griffis, VP of technology in the office of the CTO at Dolby Laboratories, SMPTE PRES. PATRICK GRIFFIS will take office as the new SMPTE president on Jan. 1, 2019 for a two-year term. The list of newly-elected SMPTE gover- nors includes Grass Valley’s Sylvain Marcotte for Canada. Paul Briscoe of Televisionary Consulting was not up for re-election and will continue to serve on the SMPTE board of governors for Canada. To facilitate this new office, Vectorworks has acquired Resolve Software Solutions and the assets of Paxar Technologies Corp., both longtime distributors of Vectorworks software.
