Christie Appoints Chairman and CEO Hideaki Onishi
Christie has announced Hideaki Onishi as its new chairman and CEO . With more than 30 years of management experience in various positions
HIDEAKI ONISHI within the Ushio , Inc . group – parent company of Christie – Hideaki has already begun his new role . Onishi replaces Kazuhisa Kamiyama , who has completed his tenure with Christie and is returning to Japan to take up a new role at Ushio headquarters .

Hideaki began working for Ushio in 1989 . Known for a strong aptitude in sales , he has also continued to demonstrate impressive management skills throughout his career , the company says . He has experience in various roles , having worked at Ushio Lighting ; Taiwan Ushio Lighting ; Adtech Engineering ; Ushio Asia Pacific ( Singapore ), Vietnam , Thailand ; and Ushio Europe . Among many highlights , Hideaki was entrusted with guiding the manufacture and sales of the printed circuit board ( PCB ) exposure machines that Ushio acquired in its 2012 acquisition of ADTEC Engineering . The next five years saw the business reach a position of strength , which culminated in his appointment as president of Ushio Asia Pacific in 2016 . Hideaki joins Christie from his previous role as president of Ushio Europe .

LightFair to Exceed Its Projected Exhibitor Count
LightFair says it has exceeded and continues to grow its projected total number of exhibitors , with 310-plus brands showing the latest architectural and commercial lighting solutions now confirmed for its 2022 Trade Show . It is taking place from June 21 – 23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center . In line with this growth , LightFair has launched a new Appointment Scheduler tool and is offering a free hotel stay giveaway for attendees who book at least 10 appointments with exhibitors by June 9 th .
“ The lighting industry ’ s recovery continues and the 2022 LightFair reflects that recovery as the show will be more than double the size of last year ’ s event and booth sales are still continuing ,” said Dan Darby , show director . “ To help maximize the onsite business connections and networking , we ’ ve introduced a new appointment scheduler , which has been very well received since its launch .”
LightFair says its initial 2022 target was 300 exhibitors , which it has exceeded thanks to 17 newly-confirmed additions to the exhibitor roster . Of LightFair ’ s four pavilions , The Collective and Design Pavilions are now full with recent additions and the Outdoor and Smart Pavilions are approaching capacity . LightFair ’ s new Appointment Scheduler allows attendees to book time on-site with their highest-priority exhibitors , providing undivided attention with brands for intervals of 15 minutes or more . This new tool can be utilized to control and manage the duration and availability of appointments , adding all booked time slots to both the exhibitors ’ and attendees ’ calendars within the mobile app or website .
