CITT / ICTS Opens Rendez-vous 2022 Call for Sessions , TEC Talks , Workshops & More
With its Expo-Scene trade show recently wrapped up , CITT / ICTS is now looking ahead to its 2022 Rendez-vous Annual Conference and Trade Show , which will be held from August 11-13 in Calgary , in conjunction with World Stage Design 2022 . Organizers expect hundreds of professionals coming from around the world and from all sectors of the live performance arts will converge to the Canadian Rockies to share , discover , and experience this unique happening .
For this special in-person edition of Rendez-vous 2022 , CITT / ICTS is calling on members to help it build an engaging program that would offer its usual mix of lively roundtables and panel discussions on current topics related to the live events technology industry along with compelling educational sessions , TEC Talks , hands-on workshops , and the industry product showcase and trade show , plus the popular Swag Bingo Night , which will finally be happening in a non-virtual setting .
For those interested in presenting , CITT / ICTS is now accepting submissions for : Educational Sessions ( 90 min . max ), in which presenters can share their knowledge on a specific subject ; TEC Talks ( 45 min . max ), in which presenters can share their technical expertise on AV integration , lighting , staging , pro audio , special effects , video mapping , virtual reality , business solutions , or any other relevant topic ; workshops ( one or two days max ), which involve hands-on sharing of skills and expertise ; panel discussions ( 90 min . max ), in which professionals can bring together a main presenter or moderator with guest panelists to share their knowledge on a subject ; and roundtable discussions ( 90 min . max ) in which professionals can bring together participants to discuss a certain topic .
Organizers welcome the inclusion of presentations with a focus on equity , diversity , and inclusion ( EDI ) as well as on diversity initiatives for

Prolight + Sound 2022 Created a Spirit of Optimism
After a break of two years , Prolight + Sound succeeded in bringing together companies and professionals from all segments of the industry in Frankfurt , Germany from April 26-29 , 2022 .
“ By all pulling together , we have achieved something that , at the beginning of the year , many people thought would be impossible : the companies and associations of the event and media technology sector joined forces with us to show once again how much life and positive energy is to be found in this industry . We all can be proud of this result . Prolight + Sound not only launched a vast range of new and impressive technologies onto the market but also generated decisive impulses for ways in which the sector can equip itself to face the challenges of the present and future ,” says Wolfgang Marzin , president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt .
The sector rewarded this willingness to focus on a physical event and personal encounters despite the uncertainties prevailing only a few months ago . “ Both exhibitors and visitors were hungry for spontaneous meetings . The high quality of the fair is also reflected by the sales figures reported by our members . In other words , the fair is the ideal starting place to recapture the all-important trust in our industry for the future ,” adds Linda Residovic , managing director of the German Media and Event Technology Association . In total , this year ’ s Prolight + Sound featured 391 exhibitors from 32 countries , with registration coming in at 19,121 attendees . Organizers says the visitor structure showed a further increase in the proportion of managers compared to previous fairs . Participants came not only from all over Europe but also from North and South America , Asia , and Australia . According to a poll of visitors , around two thirds said they expected the economic situation in the industry to improve in the future – a positive sign for the next Prolight + Sound , which will be held from April 25-28 , 2023 .
