NAB Show Cancelled Due to Coronavirus The 2020 NAB Show is the latest major event to be cancelled as a result of the COVID-19 (aka coronavirus) pandemic. The largest North American show for the media technologies industries, the NAB Show was supposed to take place from April 18-22 and attract around 90,000 people to the Las Vegas Convention Center. “As you know, we have been carefully monitoring coronavirus develop- ments both domestically and globally over the past few weeks. In the interest of addressing the health and safety concerns of our stakeholders and in consultation with partners throughout the media and entertainment industry, we have decided not to move forward with the NAB Show in April. We are currently considering a number of potential alternatives to create the best possible experience for our community,” NAB said in its statement released on March 11th. The possibility of the show being rescheduled was not ruled out, as the letter states, “We are still weighing the best potential path forward, and we ask you for your patience as we do so. We are committed to exploring all possible alternatives.” For more information as it becomes available, go to www.nabshow.com. Spring 2020 | 13
