CITT/ICTS Rendez-vous Enjoys Successful 2019 Run in Whitehorse CITT/ICTS hosted its 29 th annual Rendez-vous trade show and conference at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre and Yukon Arts Centre in White- horse, YT, from Aug. 14-16. Pre-conference workshops ran from Aug. 12-13 with post-con- ference workshops running Aug. 17-18. The event offered three days of edu- cational sessions, workshops, a trade show exhibition, social events, and networking opportunities for professionals in the theatre and live production industries. The TEC Talks educational program featured seminars relevant to lighting, video, staging, and audio professionals. “Rendez-vous 2019 welcomed delegates and exhibitors from all across Canada to the Yukon,” says CITT/ICTS President Angela Drainville. “This represents the first time that the conference and trade show have travelled to Canada’s north, and facilitated conversations around CITT/ ICTS’ role as a national organization. The experience in Yukon was a transformative one for many, and I am proud of the work of the staff at the national office, as well as the work of the local host committee in putting this life-changing experience together for our members.” The annual CITT/ICTS Awards Banquet recognized and honoured the work of CAPACAO (Honorary Membership Award), Larry Darling of Show Tech AVL (Supplier Corporate Achievement Award), Scott Miller of DWD Theatre Design + Consulting Inc. (Award of Technical Mer- it), Janelle Rainville (Educational Achievement Award), Gary Baillie of Blue Feather Music Festival (Ron Epp Memorial Award for Professional Achievement), and past board member Michael Harris (Dieter Penzhorn Memorial Award). Live Design Industry Heading Back to Las Vegas for LDI Show PL&P 09 The Live Design International (LDI) Show will return to the Las Vegas Convention Center from Nov. 18-24, 2019, with exhibits running from Nov. 22-24. LDI hosts over 14,000 members of the production com- munity, working in a wide range of international live and broadcast applications, including festivals, corporate events, theatre, concerts, clubs, theme parks, architainment, and houses of worship. Professionals from more than 80 coun- tries attend to see the latest gear in action from around 400 exhibitors and to refresh their knowledge at the conference. The LDI Conference offers site-specific case studies, hands-on technology training, behind-the-scenes tours, and panel discussions. Archie Cifelli Named Managing Director of LSM’s Montreal Subsidiary LSM Audio & Lighting, the Quebec-based company that specializes in the rental and sale of sound, lighting, and multimedia equipment, has announced the appointment of Archie T. Cifelli as managing director of its Montreal-based subsidiary. Since May 1 st , he has been LSM’s opera- tions and information manager in the metropolitan area. Cifelli has more than 30 years of experience in technology and event logistics and has been involved in a number of North American music tours, including with Corey Hart and Frank Marino. “His leadership profile, as well as his organizational and negotiation skills, means that he is a considerable asset to LSM,” says Alain Larochelle, VP of LSM. “We feel privileged that we can now count on Mr. Cifelli’s expertise; he will undoubtedly enable us to increase LSM’s notoriety in the Canadian music and international market.
