The aim of our work has been to seek anti-biofilm molecules that are produced naturally , for the development of hygiene and cleaning products , i . e . to replace traditional chemical products and obtain highly biodegradable products that are less aggressive . This will aid industrial companies to protect the environment and the health of their cleaning staff , while safeguarding the cleanliness of their facilities , increasing safety at work and guaranteeing hygiene levels .
Our biofilm-elimination technology provides an innovative solution that combines enzymatic technology and surfactant chemical processes , which makes it exclusive on the market .
Enzymes are proteins that irreversibly transform organic material into small , water-soluble residues . Furthermore , because they are produced naturally , they are totally biodegradable .
The enzymes used in the ITRAM HIGIENE range act specifically on extracellular polymeric substances ( EPS ) that form the structure of the biofilm , breaking it down , and allowing the detergent to eliminate the biofilm , while leaving the bacteria exposed , so that they can be easily eliminated in the disinfection phase .
