Die Steigerungsraten der Patentanmeldungen
im chinesischen Maschinenbau sind enorm,
während sie aus Europa eher rückläufig sind.
Bei Werkzeugmaschinen verzeichnet China im
Zeitraum von 2005 bis 2010 ein Plus von 275%
und es werden inzwischen in diesem wichtigen
Bereich mehr als 10-mal so viel Patente in China
angemeldet wie in Europa. Besonders stark ist
der Zuwachs der Patentaktivität chinesischer
Unternehmen in Europa mit Steigerungsraten
von 640% bei Werkzeugmaschinen.
China schaltet von Imitation zur Innovation
Dank langfristiger Planung, eiserner Konsequenz,
enormen Ressourcen und immer besser ausge-
bildeten Heeren von Ingenieuren und Natur-
wissenschaftlern, holt China bei den wichtigen
Innovationsthemen auf. So liegt das Patentan-
meldeverhältnis zwischen Europa und China in
den Bereichen der Numerischen Steuerungen,
Steuer- und Regelanordnungen zur Messung
(z. B. zur Kalibrierung und Initialisierung) sowie
bei Systemen mit mehreren Bearbeitungsstellen
und der übergreifenden Fabrikationssteuerung
durchschnittlich bei 100:1.
Dieses Verhalten bedroht den deutschen
Mittelstand
„German engineering“ ist in China hoch ge-
schätzt und wird vom exportabhängigen Mittel-

Patent applications for Chinese mechanical engi-
neering products are increasing tremendously,
whereas the European ones are declining some-
what. Machine tool applications in China have
grown by 275%. Today, the patents filed in this
important sector in China outnumber the Euro-
pean applications by a factor of more than 10.
The expansion of patent activities of Chinese
enterprises is strikingly focused on foreign coun-
tries where machine tool increases top at 530%.
China migrates from imitation to innovation
Owing to long-term planning, an unerringly con-
sistent approach, gigantic resources, and whole
armies of engineers and scientists and their ever-
improving education, China is catching up on
major innovation matters. Thus, the average ratio
of European and Chinese patent applications for
numerical controllers, control and automation
systems for measurement purposes (e. g. for cali-
bration and initialisation), multi-user desk installa-
tions and centralised manufacturing control today
equals 100:1.
