oreign films are something scarce in Britain
nowadays - despite the fact that Englishspeaking films dominate the rest of Europe's
cinemas. I personally think that this is a great
shame as films are a simple and useful way to understand a culture, especially if you are learning languages.
While staying with a French family in the south of
France over the summer, I was shown many incredible
films that not only helped my French, but gave me another perspective on the French culture. All of the films
I watched had a link between them - they were either
starred in, directed and written or had some involvement of French star Dany Boon. Boon began as a comedian – whose humour in both his stand-up shows and
films resembles British comedian Lee Evans – now typically stars in and writes many French com
