A BLINDING SUCCESS
Specialist integral blinds
manufacturer Morley Glass
& Glazing has sustained at
least 20% growth every year
for the past five years,
including COVID-hit 2020.
The £18 million turnover
business is the largest manufacturer
of sealed units with
ScreenLine® integral blinds
inside in the UK and provides
its customers with free delivery
in just 10 working days, as well
as full technical, marketing and
aftersales support.
Commenting on the growth of
the company, managing director
Ian Short says: “We’ve been
in business for more than 20
years and have a huge amount
of expertise and experience in
manufacturing Uni-Blind® sealed
units with integral blinds inside
so customers can be confident
that they will receive the highest
quality products, backed by a
meaningful warranty.
“Prior to the lockdown we
were manufacturing around
2,400 integral blinds a week but
recently this has risen to 3,500
per week. This has been due to
a combination of some competitors
not weathering the storm,
and the increased demand from
homeowners who have decided
to invest in home improvements
after spending longer than usual
amounts of time in their homes
during lockdown.
“We have a close working relationship
with Pelini in Italy and
offer the full range of ScreenLine
blinds to UK customers both
for residential and commercial
projects.
“Our consistent growth
demonstrates our commitment
in our high-quality manufacturing
processes, our investment in
marketing and customer service
and also reflects the increased
demand from homeowners
and commercial developers for
integral blinds – particularly for
bi-fold and sliding patio doors.
Our focus is on delivering added
value to our customers who can
rely on us for the best quality
products and the best service.”
One of the latest service
improvements Morley Glass
& Glazing has introduced is
FleetWizard, a new software
system designed to optimise
the dispatch and delivery of its
popular Uni-blind sealed units
with integral blinds inside. The
automated route planning system
gives the company a clear visual
of its weekly orders nationwide
and enables it to carry out easy
load planning for its 26 vans that
takes into consideration both location
and load capacities, helping
to save both time and fuel.
Ian says: “Fleet Wizard has
been integrated with the rest of
our glass management software,
so our team is able to completely
trace jobs from the moment
they’re ordered right up to delivery.
It also gives our customers
an easy way to track their order,
and even sends them accurate
ETA emails that allow them to
better plan their own production
around their order’s arrival.”
Morley Glass & Glazing’s
Uni-Blinds® range provides the
widest choice of integral blinds
in double and triple glazed
units, with all manual, solar and
motorised versions available in
a wide range of colour options.
Its solar controlled blinds have
been given a stylish makeover
and an energy efficiency boost.
Renamed the “W Smart” system,
the former W Swipe system, is
a range of venetian, pleated or
black-out blinds encapsulated
within a 20, 22, 27, 29 or 32-mm
cavity, equipped with a 3.6V
internal motor, and powered by
a lithium-ion battery housed in
a restyled battery module. The
battery can be either recharged
via a micro-USB connector or
by means of an external solar
panel, both available as options.
The blind can also be controlled
by a 99-channel remote control,
associated with the radio receiver
that is integrated in the battery
module as standard.
The innovation brought by the
new battery module is not only
about style, which was developed
by professional designers
in Italy, but also about the functionality
of the device, which has
been improved by the introduction
of two L.E.D. arrows that
intuitively show the commands
given to the blind through the
module or the need for recharging.
The slim size of the device
(only 18 mm deep) allows it to
be placed on sliding windows, in
vertical or horizontal positions.
The battery module is available
in a choice of four colours:
silver, white, anthracite grey, and
black.
Morley Glass & Glazing also
provides unrivalled technical support
for Uni-Blinds® customers
too, being the only UK supplier
of integral blinds to have dedicated
customer support engineers
on the road. It also stocks the
largest range of ScreenLine®
system spare parts in Europe
with £1 million of ScreenLine®
components available within 24
hours.
