5 . Thermlock ® for top energy efficiency
All Sheerline windows and doors feature Thermlock ® technology to keep homes warm and well insulated against the worst of the UK weather . These closed-cell , insulating chambers act as a thermal break , working in conjunction with high performance glazing to create class leading thermal performance , far superior to traditional polyamide . U-Values are as low as 0.9 W /( m ² K ) with Sheerline Prestige for triple glazing and 1.3 W /( m ² K ) double glazed . Meanwhile , Sheerline Classic achieves impressive DG U-Values of 1.4 W /( m ² K ).
6 . Made in Britain and extruded by us for fast , agile service
Did you know that 190,000 tonnes of extruded aluminium is consumed in the UK ? But only 110,000 tonnes are made here . Sheerline is proud to be ‘ Made in Britain ’ supporting a more sustainable , circular economy coupled to fast , reliable service .
A key consideration for us when developing Sheerline was the level of service we could offer . We ’ ve invested over £ 15M in our state-of-the-art factory in Derbyshire , where we design and make every major aluminium and moulded component , as well as our own Thermlock ® thermal breaks . This gives us the control to ensure consistent quality , enabling us to offer the levels of service you ’ d expect from a PVC-U system . For example , all Sheerline profile comes in 12 colours from stock , including dual colour combinations , delivered to fabricators within five working days . Bespoke colours are available in just 10 working days .
7 . Designed with the fabricator , installer and end user in mind
Garnalex ’ s top team of designers have designed a whole host of innovations into the Sheerline system to make it easy to fabricate and easy to install . Just three examples include :
i ) Sheerline ’ s unique , patented corner construction brings profiles together in a controlled and precise manner to form a right-first-time mitre joint for perfect corners and a high-end finish . This also allows larger outer frames to be taken to site in kit form for on-site assembly , if access or transportation is an issue .
ii ) One-man installation : Sheerline Classic ’ s patented clip-in hinge supports hold the sash in the correct position while the hinge is screwed securely in place . This means , subject to safe handling limits , windows can be installed easily by a single fitter .
iii ) Sheerline Classic is supplied preglazed to reduce installation time onsite . Glass is delivered protected in the frames to reduce the risk of glass damage and eliminate missing sealed units . It also reduces the number of suppliers installers need to visit .
