Angus Montgomery Ltd, which has been organising events globally since 1895, has become the majority shareholder. Co-founders Matthew Glover and Paul Godwin remain shareholders and directors of the company with Matthew as Chairman, as does Event Director Nickie West. John Beaty, an inves- tor in the business since 2015, has relinquished his shareholding and left the business. Angus Montgomery Ltd is a fifth generation family business. It is responsible for events within the building and construction sec- tor including ‘W’, the UK national show for the joinery and furniture industries, Surface Design Show, Interbuild Africa and Glass Expo Africa, the latter of which take place in Johannesburg biennial- ly. For Angus Montgomery Ltd its Managing Director Damion Angus said: “We have been very aware of the FIT Show and the tremendous success that the event has become since its first show in 2013; it is greatly admired in the exhibition industry.” DRIVING EXCELLENCE EXPORT AWARD TRIUMPH At the end of last year, Epwin Window Systems commissioned a piece of research to find out the top goals of fabricators and installers in 2018. The results were clear: driving more sales was the top priority for most business- es, with nearly 63% saying this would be the most important goal for them this year. Shortlisted against two other leading compa- nies from the region, the business went through two rounds of judging before being announced as the winner at a dinner at Ram- side Hall in Durham. The awards, held in association with the North East England Chamber of Commerce, aim to celebrate successful and innovative businesses in the region. Attended by over 400 people, the evening saw 12 awards presented across various categories. P C Henderson will now go on to compete against the win- ners of the Northumber- land and Teesside heats for a chance to win the overall Export Award for the North East of England.
