A key feature in this year’ s FIT Show review is Regency Glass, a leading UK IGU manufacturer, showcasing its development of an ultra-thin triple-glazed unit( TGU) and a £ 15 million investment in automation and machinery to support its production.
With the UK’ s first ultra-thin TGU featuring a 0.5mm glass centre pane, Regency Glass is setting a new benchmark in the glazing industry; delivering triple-glazing performance at near double-glazing weight. The product, developed in collaboration with Corning Incorporated, promises significant improvements in thermal performance, with U-values as low as 0.5 W / m ² K and a unit weight only 5 % heavier than that of standard double glazing. This innovation answers long-standing challenges: how to achieve high energy performance without adding excessive thickness or weight.
Powered by World-Class Partnerships and Automation
Supporting this leap is a trio of powerhouse partnerships with Jotika, HEGLA, and Glaston- each bringing decades of expertise to Regency’ s expanded manufacturing footprint.

production. The software will streamline automation, optimise throughput, and offer real-time data access across the shop floor.
“ This isn’ t just about keeping up, it’ s about staying ahead,” says Liam Briars, Chief Information Officer at Regency Glass.“ Jotika’ s system will form the digital backbone of our next-generation manufacturing.”
On the machinery front, Regency Glass has made a landmark investment in cutting-edge systems from HEGLA, including thin glass cutting tables and SortJet automation. This equipment will enable

fast, precise, and scalable production of the new units.
“ Our new product redefines what’ s possible in the UK glazing market,” explains Bradley Beazant, Chief Development Officer.“ HEGLA’ s machinery gives us the tools to manufacture with speed and precision, supported by a decade-long relationship rooted in innovation.”
HEGLA’ s UK Managing Director, Greg Smith, calls it“ the most technologically advanced IG factory in the UK,” noting that the high level of automation sets a new standard for quality and efficiency in the sector.

Glaston Partnership: Pushing Technical Boundaries
Further advancing Regency’ s manufacturing capabilities is Glaston machinery, including the UK’ s only TPS ® applicator, two MULTI’ ARRISSER machines, a new furnace, and a specialised ultra-thin TGU line. These systems, arriving in Q3 2025, are engineered for unmatched precision and performance.
Wayne Fitzmartin, Chief Operating Officer at Regency, comments:“ We focus on investments that anticipate the glazing industry’ s future needs. With Glaston’ s technology and expertise, we’ re confident in delivering ultra-thin IGUs that bring solutions to the many headaches that traditional triple glazing brings.”
