DISCOVER YOUR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
Epwin Window Sys-
tems has launched a new
brochure that summarises
what the systems house has
to offer fabricators.
The brochure opens by
highlighting the stability
and reliability a systems
house with a history
stretching back 40 years
has to offer. It also high-
lights how the company’s
size means it is capable of
investments in its infra-
structure few others can
match – this year alone,
for example, Epwin Win-
dow Systems will expand
extrusion capacity by 40%,
foiling capacity by 30% and
open a new 300,000 square
foot warehouse and distri-
bution centre in Telford.
Subsequent sections
showcase the window and
door products available
across its brands, which
include Profile 22, Spectus,
Swish and PatioMaster.
With systems and solutions
suitable for every sector,
the brochure demonstrates
how Epwin Window Sys-
tems can deliver more for
every fabricator.
The brochure closes by
looking at the exceptional
business support Epwin
Window Systems has to
offer. From technical and
specification support to
training and bespoke
marketing packages, plus
the popular Excellence as
Standard membership pro-
gramme, and the benefits
of working with an indus-
try leader.
GGF Members’ Day
Dates and Venues
The Glass and Glazing Federation
is pleased to announce that its
annual Members’ Day will be held
on Thursday 26th September at
the Hilton Olympia in Kensington
London, with a special networking
event on the evening before
(25th September) at The Museum
of Brands in Notting Hill.
Though the full event
programme has yet to be
finalised, Members’ Day
will include presentations
on topical issues, keynote
speakers and some new
exciting features. All will be
revealed in the build up to
the event.
James Lee, GGF Director
of External Affairs said,
“The venues we’ve chosen
this year will give Members’
Day a very different expe-
rience. Our exclusive use
of the Museum of Brands
in particular should be of
great interest. Many of the
favourite British brands are
featured and their histo-
ry charted through the
different eras from
Victorian times
through the 20th
century and
into the digital
age.”

HEALTH AND SAFETY: NEW CODE OF PRACTICE LAUNCHED
The Glass and Glazing
Federation (GGF) is
pleased to announce the
launch of the newly re-
vised Code of Practice for
the Safe Handling, Trans-
portation and Site Storage
of Glass. The revision was
instigated following con-
cerns raised at the increas-
ing number of incidents
where improper handling
of glass resulted in deaths
or serious injuries.
The guide was reviewed
by a panel of safety ex-
perts drawn from the GGF,
Council for Aluminium in
Building and representa-
tives from major contrac-
tors/building companies.
This panel concluded that
the effectiveness of safety
controls can be enhanced
by good communication,
something sadly missing
in a number of serious
incidents.
The revised guide
makes clear what systems,
equipment and training
that must be in place but
in addition puts significant
emphasis on the impor-
tance of good communica-
tion between supplier and
customer with the addition
of checklists that should
be used both at contract
award time and dispatch.
