These products when used in a sys- tem have improved performance in terms of thermal and acoustic properties and are fully airtight. SWS® can be used for new build and renovation and is compatible with all types of frame materials: aluminium, wood and PVCu. The SWS® set-up is Soudaseal® 215 LM providing the flexible sealant on the exteri- or of the building with Soudafoam Window & Door SWS providing the thermal and acoustic insulation element and Acryrub® SWS as the flexible paintable sealant on the interior of the joint. SWS® offers the perfect solution to all these common window installation problems: • Whistling windows • Drafts • Heat loss • Leaks and damp patches • Mould spots around windows • Excessive traffic noise The System: Soudaseal® 215 LM – A premium quality low modulus hybrid polymer sealant. This 100% hybrid polymer sealant offers primerless adhesion on all common construction mate- rials. The advantage of using a silicone free sealant include damp surface adhesion, an ex- tended open time and no staining on sensitive materials such as copper and natural stone. As well as sealing around windows and doors Soudaseal 215 LM can be used for sealing roofline and drainage systems, sealing of expansion and connection joints and some industrial applications including coated metals and stainless steel. See the benefits of using a hybrid pol- ymer over silicone-based products in the table above. Soudafoam Window & Door SWS – A revolutionary flexible polyurethane expand- ing foam. It is recommended for use on all A, A+ and A++ windows and doors to max- imise thermal and acoustic insulation. Once cured it is totally airtight. Flexifoam® technology means gaps and joints remain airtight even when frames expand and contract over time. Long-term durability is also vastly improved over tra- ditional PU foams. A wider application tem- perature means this product can be used all year round, even when temperatures are as low as -10oC. Acryrub® SWS – A premium quality silanized acrylic polymer-based sealant and filler. The solvent free, virtually odourless formula is very easy to apply, has great ad- hesion on many porous surfaces and is fully waterproof once cured. Due to its silanized properties, this prod- uct has much better resistance to cracking than traditional acrylic sealants, eliminating the need for costly remedial work. Fabrication of the profiles was undertaken by one of the West Midlands’ leading Profile 22 Optima fabri- cators Stedek Windows & Doors. Manufacture of the windows and doors on the project ran smoothly despite several challenging factors. Increasing energy effi- ciency was one of the key drivers of the refurbishment and the Optima suite pro- vided the solution needed. The products are designed to deliver increased insula- tion and weather protection, which makes them the per- fect choice for high-rise, ex- posed locations. The Profile 22 windows were fabricated to PAS24:2016 standards for security. Little London House and Wood House have been transformed by the works, which have enhanced the aesthetic appearance and delivered greatly improved thermal efficiency. www.profile22.co.uk
