Stevenswood aims to grow turnover by £10million as it increases its geographic footprint and expands its range of prod- ucts and services throughout the country. The firm has seen significant growth since being acquired by Cairngorm Capital in November 2016 – merging with trade-sup- pliers Polyframe Trade Centres, Sameday Trade Frames and True- mans and organically adding five new trade centres to its portfolio in 2018. By providing access to cap- ital, sector experience, and by backing a buy-and-build strategy, Cairngorm Capital has supported Stevenswood’s growth, with the firm now generating turnover of more than £35million. Today, the company has a portfolio of 38 trade centres across the UK and employs 180 people – represent- ing one of the largest windows distributors in the country. Eiffel Tower in top shape for 130th birthday It’s one of the world’s most famous structures and an instantly recognisable symbol not just of Paris, but France itself. The Eiffel Tower will mark its 130th birthday – and state-of-the-art Edgetech innovation is helping ensure it’ll still be delighting visi- tors for decades to come. When esteemed architects Moatti & Rivière produced highly complex designs for renovating the Tower’s 57.6m viewing platform, their plans called for glass units that excelled on all fronts. They envisaged a 130-square foot glass floor, offering spectacular views of the Champs de Mars below, fringed with a 2.5m glass balustrade, and, most ambitiously of all, a dou- ble-kinked glass façade, 8m high and 20m wide. Both concave and convex in parts, the façade was far too intricate to be manu- factured in one piece and was therefore made from a mosaic of cylindrically bent rectangular panels, all incorporating Edgetech’s Su- per Spacer Triseal Premium Plus. With its unique tri- ple-seal design, Triseal offers extreme durability and the structural strength to excel in even the most demanding architectural conditions. www.edgetechig.co.uk After a short period of infra- structure and system consol- idation, which will act as the backbone for organic growth, the medium-term aim is to double the number of trade counters across the UK. An additional 12 branch- es are expected to create 50 jobs and boost the company’s turnover by £10million. The growth pro- gramme will be led by Managing Director, Joe Trueman – appointed in 2017 following the Truemans acquisition.
