Solidor launch into the 21st century
New Staffordshire trade
centre, 21st Century Afforda-
ble, have just opened up a new
showroom that boasts five differ-
ent Solidor composite doors, in
an environment that’s aimed at
both the trade and local home-
owner.
As part of Affordable Win-
dows, 21st Century can also
supply Solidor composite doors
elsewhere in the Midlands and
beyond, while the offering of
the showroom to local home-
owners allows the company to
pass on any enquiries directly
to a list of trusted local install-
ers. In addition to the offering
of the industry’s most respected
composite door brands, the new
trade centre can also offer com-
plementing PVCu window frames
from KÖMMERLING, thereby
acting as a single source, with
all of the other consumables and
ancillaries you’d expect from a
trade counter.
Jason Wootton, director and
general manager of 21st Century
Affordable in Stafford commented:
“The ability to showcase a strong
composite door brand is a must
for any trade counter and we’re
blessed with the opportunity as a
Solidor trade partner.”

Grosvenor provides
complete recycled solution
for Macclesfield HA
Long-standing VEKA fabricator Grosvenor
Windows has removed, recycled and
replaced 160 windows for a respected
Macclesfield housing association.
Working with VEKA and
VEKA Recycling, Grosvenor was
not only able to recycle the old
frames, but also install high qual-
ity recycled VEKA systems into
Arcon’s Fir Court development.
Grosvenor Windows’ Dominic
Mills explained: “We’ve worked
with Arcon Housing Association
a number of times before. They
know the quality of our work is
top notch – both fabrication and
installation - and that the systems
we provide meet all the relevant
specification requirements. For
this project, we used VEKA’s
Infinity recycled system which the
client was very impressed with. It
has a core of up to 80% recycled
PVC-U and then just a skin of
virgin polymer to ensure it looks
exactly like new. This means it
has all the same benefits as brand
‘new’ frames when it comes to
style, weather performance, secu-
rity, energy efficiency etc – but it
also ticks a very important box for
sustainability.”
