Yale ‘locked’ in for
September Summit

Andy Swift has been appointed
as head of UK and Republic of
Ireland operations for window and
door sealants and air tightness
specialist, ISO-CHEMIE.
Heading up a national
team, Andy Swift, who
brings more than 20 years’
experience in the window
and conservatory manufac-
turing industries to the role,
will continue to oversee
strong growth and expan-
sion.
Since joining ISO-CHEMIE
in 2014 as national sales
manager, he has been at
the forefront of building the
brand in the UK fenestration
sector, raising awareness
of thermal leakage around
windows. In particular, he
has been involved in pro-
moting the energy efficiency
and installation benefits
of sealant tapes among
sector decision makers and
installers.
Targeting architects at the
design stage and install-
ers during the fitment of
windows and doors, he
will together with technical
advisers Nick Thompson
and Marc Barton, continue
to focus on highlighting to
the construction sector the
benefits of using specialist
technology to secure air-
tight solutions.

Yale will be sponsoring the
new Technical Stage at this
year’s one-day conference
is being held on Thursday,
September 12th at Edgbas-
ton Stadium and Conference
Centre, Birmingham.
Running alongside the
Main Stage, the Technical
Stage will tackle the key
issues around technical,
compliance and regulations,
providing senior technical
people and designers, pro-
duction directors, H&S and
compliance officers with a
platform to learn and share
best practice.
Yale, who will also be ex-
hibiting, partnered with the
Glazing Summit for its inau-
gural event and Paul Atkin-
son, Sales and Commercial
Director of Yale Door and
Window Solutions, was one
of four industry leaders who
took part in a discussion on
innovation and technology.

GGF set for fresh approach
With all the Westminster political activity
ongoing, the GGF Political Strategy Committee
met on 1st July to discuss the status, progress
and future plans for the GGF’s campaigns on
fire safety, skills and training, energy efficiency.
Kevin Buckley, GGF Chief Exec-
utive commented, “Now that the new
Prime Minister has been elected, we
are anticipating changes to the Cabinet.
When the new appointments are final-
ised - hopefully in the next few weeks
– then we will approach the relevant
ministers and key decision makers with
fresh communications on our cam-
paigns.”
In the meantime, Adrian Blaydon,
GGF Technical Officer presented at the
All Party Parliamentary Group for Fire
Safety in the House of Commons on 9th
July, while the GGF has attended meet-
ings with political partners Construction
Products Association (CPA) and the
National Home Improvement Council
(NHIC) on shared political goals.
