PROGRESS AGAINST THE PRINCIPLES
We provide an overview of the progress made against the principles in the table below .
We will develop the capabilities of students to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large and to work for an inclusive and sustainable global economy .
Principle 1 PURPOSE
Our Progress > Supported the Monash Malaysia campus community to promote the SDGs and equal opportunities ( pg . 10 ) > Mentored students to succeed in business competitions focused on responsible management ( pg . 31-32 ) > Continued to raise awareness of responsible businesses through Monash Business Responsibility Day ( pg . 33 ) > Encouraged student entrepreneurs to build sustainable startups and social enterprises ( pg . 36 )
We will incorporate into our academic activities , curricula , and organisational practices the values of global social responsibility as portrayed in international initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact .
Principle 2 VALUES
Our Progress > Supported the Respect . Now . Always . campaign to raise awareness on sexual assault and sexual harrassment

We will create educational frameworks , materials , processes and environments that enable effective learning experiences for responsible leadership .
Principle 3 METHOD
Our Progress > Embedded SDGs to the curriculum ( pg . 12 ) > Provided opportunities for students to engage with responsible businesses and business leaders ( pg . 14-15 ) > Introduced a scholarship competition , the Monash Business Ideation Challenge which focused on the ideation of social enterprises ( pg . 32 )
We will engage in conceptual and empirical research that advances our understanding about the role , dynamics , and impact of corporations in the creation of sustainable social , environmental and economic value .
Principle 4 RESEARCH
Our Progress > Ensured publications in highly ranked journals and books on sustainability issues ( pg . 18-23 ) > Secured Internal and Extrnal Grants that advance sustainable development ( pg . 24-27 ) > Completed Graduate research on SDG related topics ( pg . 28 )
We will interact with managers of business corporations to extend our knowledge of their challenges in meeting social and environmental responsibilities and to jointly explore eff ective approaches to meeting these challenges .
Principle 5 PARTNERSHIP
Our Progress > Supported Monash Business alumni in engaging with the community on social initiatives ( pg . 34-35 ) > Encouraged entrepreneurship education through eiHub and its initiatives ( pg . 36-37 ) > Developed impactful engagements with industry partners and other stakeholders ( pg . 38 )
We will facilitate and support dialog and debate among educators , students , business , government , consumers , media , civil society organisations and other interested groups and stakeholders on critical issues related to global social responsibility and sustainability .
