CAMPUS INITIATIVES

The School of Business initiates and supports a range of activities at the Malaysia campus to promote social and environmental responsibility and equal opportunities for the campus community . These initiatives encourage greater awareness of sustainability issues by changing mindsets , building skills and behaviour among staff , students and other stakeholders .
RESPECT . NOW . ALWAYS . This is an awareness campaign led by Universities Australia to highlight the determination of Australia ’ s universities to ensure students and staff are safe from sexual assault and sexual harassment . An RNA Day was held on 28 August 2019 for students and staff from all Monash University campuses to understand the importance of inclusivity and safety for all . And in 2020 , all Monash University staff were required to complete an Ethics and Professional Conduct online course in our commitment to ensuring respectful professional conduct within our community of staff , students , visitors , industry partners or service providers .
MALAYSIAN IMMERSION HUB Established in 2019 , the Malaysian Immersion Hub is an independent platform for students and staff who wish to foster a deeper and more meaningful sense of Malaysia . The hub provides assistance in developing content relevant to the topics of history , culture , religion , politics , or environment in Malaysia . Apart from that , MIH holds exhibitions to showcase Malaysia ’ s natural and cultural diversity and also assists various Schools at Monash University Malaysia to curate experiences , events and exhibitions that may be useful to students across various academic disciplines and backgrounds .
WOMEN ’ S EMPOWERMENT NETWORK A voluntary network that was founded in 2019 by 12 academics , students and professional women of Monash University Malaysia to help women thrive in the workplace . Women ’ s Empowerment Network ( WEN ) holds regular webinars , workshops and training sessions focusing on three core pillars : Development , Well-being and Community . And through these initiatives , WEN hopes to create a community of women who will take a proactive approach in their own growth and well being .
UPCYCLING OF FURNITURE FOR RURAL SCHOOLS In 2020 , Monash University Malaysia donated classroom furniture to four rural schools outside of the Klang Valley , SMK Kampung Soeharto , SK Jeliang , SKJ ( T ) Pulau Carey and SK Sg . Nibong Sekinchan . A total of 680 chairs , 98 tables and 6 cabinets were distributed through this community initiative .

DENGUE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN Led by the Jeffery Cheah School of Medicine and Health Science at Monash University Malaysia , this health campaign was conducted to educate students of the Cannosian Convent Primary School about the Dengue virus , the Aedes mosquito , the symptoms of this infectious disease and steps to prevent it .
