Author’s Visit
Journey of a story from the writer’s mind to the shelf in the shop
The author, founder and organizer of Hertford Children’s Book Festival, Freya North visited Pristine Private School on 9th of March 2016. Ms. Freya North’s visit was courtesy Emirates Airline Literature Festival.
She addressed the Year 5 and 6 students on a broad overview of the journey of a story from the writer’s mind to the shelf in the shop. She talked about the entire process of how a book takes its final shape beginning from a creative idea going through different stages of writing, designing the book cover, illustrations, proof reading, publishing, publicity and finally reaching the book shops for everyone to read and enjoy.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the session and also learnt important tips for writing. The enthusiastic audience asked questions to know more about the author and her work and how they can be successful authors.
