What’ s New?
Hay‘ n’ District Craft
Starting as a home based business, working the markets, Hay‘ n’ District Crafts has grown to an extent where the business can now boast street frontage. The shop is situated in the old Stitch Connection shop, next to Robertson’ s Bakery. The shop sells scrap booking materials, card making needs, ribbons, beads, mounted and unmounted stamps, as well as cottons, elastic and other sewing essentials. Michelle Owen’ s jewellery and other craft items along with some of Hay’ s finest home produced craft, are on sale at the shop: candles, melts, crotchet and knitted items and art works. Michelle also offers a mending service for patches, hemming, zips and alterations. Plans are underway to extend her services, including classes to run at the shop. Helium balloons and party essentials are also on the agenda for thew shop.
Welcome home: Les and Trish
“ We missed the friendliness of Hay,” says Trish Lewis, who has recently‘ home’. After spending four years in Townsville Trish and Les have moved back to Hay and opened a new business. They will be remembered from the BP Service station and motor cycle centre. Les has opened a small engine mechanical repair business which he is running, with council approval, from their Hursley Street residence. Lawn mowers, brush cutters, chain saws, ag bikes and even push bikes are on the list of services offered, with a pick up and delivery service available.“ No one in Hay is doing bike repairs,” says Trish. With the growing trend to cycling in town, this will be a boon for those needing push bike repairs. Contact: Les 0449 624 317 Trish 0420 420 648
