The Hay Lions annual Goods and Services auction attracted a huge crowd and raised nearly $20,000 for the club. Seventy items went under the auctioneers hammer, including a very sought after ‘Lara Catering Chocolate Cake.’ Last years losing bidders got a bargain when their bid of $280 was successful. Hamish Cullen Ward and Peter Lewis (Seniors Coach) were all smiles when their bid of $280 won the “Lara Catering Chocolate Cake.” President Anthony Slattery thanked all sponsors, workers and organisers of the night. “This year is one of our better years,” said Anthony. With the AGM coming up at the end of the year he also encouraged players and supporters to put their hand up as there is a lot of work to be done by a small committee.
