Breaking Down
The Barriers of Distance
Video link classes are now available at the TAFE NSW
Hay Campus in Lachlan Street. A recent open day at the
Hay Campus allowed prospective students to experience
the virtual classroom setting, Finley TAFE Aged Care
students and their teacher appeared on the TV. Video
linking allows students to have social interaction and share
experiences through a virtual classroom. Students and
teachers on both sides of the link can see and hear each
other as in an actual classroom. This link enables classes
with few numbers in each town to still have those classes
which might not otherwise be avaiable.

class room means travel is no longer a hindrance to study.
Through connected classrooms, Hay TAFE can now offer
Responsible Service of Alcohol courses every two weeks,
allowing students to obtain the certificate for work more
readily. It also allows Hay Campus to deliver courses
which have not been available due to small class
numbers. A major advantage is that students no longer
have to travel long distances in order to study.
