Griffith Needs A Helping Hand
Students from regional high schools
have prepared posters supporting a
campaign to establish a Headspace
centre in Griffith. The posters from
schools in Hay, Leeton and Lake
Cargelligo are on display in IGA and
the windows beside Crazy Clarks.
The aim of the posters is to bring
about community awareness of
Headspace. Show your support by
’liking’ the headspace facebook page:

Headspace
The establishment of a headspace
centre in Griffith would benefit local
youth by reducing travel (to Wagga or
Albury) and the centre will provide an
outreach service to Hay on a regular
basis.
Headspace is the National Youth
Mental Health Foundation. They help
young people who are going through
a tough time with general health
services, mental health and
counselling, education, alcohol and
other drug services. Headspace
caters for youth in the 12 -25 years
age bracket.
The headspace web site:
www.headspace.org.au
has resources and reading material to
benefit young people and their
26
parents. Under the parents and
caregivers tab click ‘find information’.
Some of the material covers bullying,
general parenting tips, mental health
and illness, grief and trauma. Articles
are easy to read and provide many
helpful tips.
