One more member gives us two more hands Lynn Fredricks, District Governor of Lions International, was in Hay recently to gain more knowledge of the town with a view to helping reestablish the Lions Service Club. With only two members of the club left, Lions is in danger of folding in Hay. A “Friends and Family BBQ” on the 16th April, will also be an information day for anyone interested in joining the organisation. Bev Wilson and Susie Parslow will be joined by Lynn and Lions from his branch, and will be discussing ways to make Lions meeting more accessible to prospective members. Lions Clubs work together to support emergencies and natural disasters in Australia and overseas. Activities provide benefits to the Community, including programs for our youth, medical research and health related activities, assistance to adults and children with disability and response to emergencies or disasters. Lions Clubs in every town run many local activities. The activities may be to raise money for local people or projects. Usually a club would prefer to put the majority of money raised back into its local community. Bev and Susie hope that a new committee can be formed to keep the club alive, and are willing to offer any guidance needed to a future committee.
